Frederick Chevallier Syer, volunteer of the 1st class in the British Navy, kept these logbooks on board the "Centaur," a 74-gun ship captained by John Chambers White, and the "Tiber," a 38-gun frigate captained by James Richard Dacres. Entries for the Centaur date April 6, 1813-August 27, 1814 and those for the Tiber date August 2, 1814-March 31, 1817
