Scope and arrangement
Edmund Randolph was an American attorney, the Governor of Virginia, Secretary of State, and the first United States Attorney General. The papers consist mainly of letters written by Randolph during his tenure as Secretary of State and United States Attorney General pertaining to official matters, as well as circular letters written or signed by Randolph. Also present are several land grants signed by Randolph during his term as Governor of Virginia, 1787-1788.
