Collection consists of letters to and from General Robert E. Lee pertaining to social matters, and to the resignation of W. Eugene Webster (son of William G. Webster and cousin of Mary Custis Lee) from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Also present are several letter fragments; a 1865 letter to Dr. Thomas Addis Emmet pertaining to Lee documents; and a transcript of Lee's remarks "on the report of Major General J. B. Magruder of the operations of his command near Richmond."
