Diaries describe family, social and school life in the Catskill region of New York (April 30-Sept. 9, 1847); give details of the wagon train journey from Batavia, Illinois en route to Oregon (April 21-July 23, 1852); and provide notes on life at the home established on the Columbia River, near Portland, Oregon (Jan. 1-July 4, 1853).
