Donald Beaty Bloch was employed by the Fish and Wildlife Service, United States Department of the Interior. He participated in the founding of the Fortean Society (dedicated to continuing the work of Charles Fort (1874-1932)) and corresponded during the 1940s and 1950s with its secretary, Tiffany Thayer. Collection consists of letters received by Bloch, clippings, ephemera, and other printed matter. Principal correspondents are Tiffany Thayer and Alvin F. Harlow. Some of the correspondence mentions literary figures including H.L. Mencken and Ezra Pound. Included are letters to Bloch from other persons, mainly Forteans, and printed ephemera issued by the Fortean Society.
