Scope and arrangement
The Henry Ten Eyck docket of actions at law, dated 1786 October 16 to 1787 April 27 (1 volume), and related documents, dated 1782-1787 and 1826, concern actions in court for the collection of debt and damages.
Volume entries briefly record the names of parties involved, and the date that Ten Eyck issued a summons or warrant, or took other action as a Justice of the Peace. Some entries include later notes about the status of the case, such as payment of debt. Related documents include summonses, warrants, bonds and receipts, dated 1782 to 1787. A few are undated. Also present is a letter from J.H. Ten Eyck to an unidentified recipient regarding business matters, dated 1826. The documents, originally loose or pinned in the volume, were removed to a separate folder in the volume's slipcase.
