This collection contains portions of the original manuscript of Edward Brewster Sheldon's play The Love Feast--a literal translation of the Italian title, Cena delle beffe. Included are Act III, books 1 through 6, and Act IV, books 1 through 3. In England and the United States, the play was titled The Jest. The play was produced at the Plymouth Theatre, New York City in April of 1919 Undated notes of the author on front covers of book 1 of Act III and book 1 of Act IV direct the forwarding of copies of the play to John Barrymore
