Daniel Ricketson was a Quaker of Bristol County, Massachusetts. His papers contain a mathematical text book, a logbook, and an account book. The mathematical textbook includes problems in arithmetic, navigation and trigonometry and was compiled by Ricketson in 1760. He kept the logbook on a voyage in the sloop "Polly" from July 10-September 27, 1766. His account book contains accounts with customers for merchandise, tailoring, labor on sloops and other services, with entries dating from January 22-November 26, 1771. This account book also contains a pedigree of the Ricketson family of Dartmouth, Bristol County, Massachusetts, in the hand of a kinsman, Daniel Ricketson (1813-1898)
