This collection consists of two volumes: a letter book, dated June 5, 1867 to June 20, 1873, and an orderly book, dated May 29, 1867 to June 28, 1873. The books originate from the U.S. Revenue-Cutter Service ship Petrel, and contain official correspondence and copies of orders from the Secretary of the Treasury and Collectors of Customs while the ship was stationed at Apalatchicola and Pensacola, Florida
