Charles Penrose (1886- ) was a consulting engineer and historian. Collection consists of Penrose's letters to his son Julian d'Este Penrose concerning Christmas in colonial New England and Philadelphia, shipping, 18th-century New England, and related topics. Also, several letters to H.M. Lydenberg, director of the New York Public Library.
