The Schlaraffia was a German émigré social club, founded in Prague in 1859 and focused on the arts and humor. The Schlaraffen Stammtisch register dates from 1911 through 1914 and details the membership and meeting attendance of the New York City chapter of Schlaraffia. The register is organized by meeting date and contains signatures, many of which are pseudonyms; decorative lettering; drawings of owls; and short inscriptions in German. The register documents the social circle of prominent German-American immigrants, such as August Lüchow, living in New York City in the early 20th century
