Silas Weir Mitchell (1829-1914) was a physician, neurologist, poet, and novelist. Papers include letters to Joseph B. Gilder, 1887-1908; letters from James Whitcomb Riley, 1896-1910; letters to John Hay, 1897-1905; letters from Charles Edgar Clark, 1900-1913; and letters from Albert H.G. Grey, 4th Earl Grey, 1905-1913.
