William Smith (1745-1794) was an Irish-born merchant in Kakiat (now Ramapo), New York, who later went into business with his brother, Walter Smith. The accounts record transactions relating to rum, tea, textiles, and other sundries, with a gap in entries circa 1778-1780, presumably due to the Revolutionary War.
