Founded in 1896, the Order of Founders and Patriots is made up of "Associates" who trace their ancestry back to those first colonists and who have forefathers in the same male ancestral line who served in the American Revolution. The records of the New York Society of the Order of Founders and Patriots include membership applications; minutes (1910-1920) of the General Society of the War of 1812; a scrapbook; and one volume of material belonging to the Committee on Insignia, Ribbon, Rosette, and Diploma of the Order, which contains correspondence with designers such as Tiffany & Company; Bailey Banks & Biddle Company; Dempsey & Carroll, J.E. Caldwell & Company; Louis Dreka; and John Quincy Adams. Membership applications span from 1896 to 1914, and from 1936 to 1952
