Harry S. Truman (1884-1972) was the 33rd President of the United States. He succeeded to the presidency on April 12, 1945, after the death of Franklin D. Roosevelt. The collection consists of a small quantity of letters written by members of Truman's staff on his behalf; several form letters from Truman relating to his support for various events and causes; a press copy of his farewell address; and documents and ephemera from his 1949 inauguration
