William McKinley (1843-1901) was the 25th President of the United States, serving from March 4, 1897 until his assassination on September 14, 1901. The collection consists of a small quantity of letters written on behalf of McKinley by his personal secretary, John Addison Porter, acknowledging letters sent to the President. One typescript letter to A. A. E. Taylor, president of the College of Wooster, is signed by McKinley
