William H. Taft (1857-1930) was the twenty-seventh president of the United States, and later the tenth Chief Justice of the United States. The collection consists of a small quantity of letters written by Taft to various individuals between 1887 and 1928. Letters concern both professional and social matters. Recipients include his brother, Henry; General E. A. Carman, and Ralph M. Easley of the National Civic Federation. Also present are several letters to various parties from Taft's wife, Helen
