Midshipman Frederick John Rendell kept this logbook on board the H.M.S. Liverpool, captained by Rowley Lambert, Esq., from April 29, 1863 through June 5, 1864. The volume, whose covers are missing, includes six maps and six sketches. Entries record the Liverpool's cruising around the British Isles, thence to Bermuda and the West Indies. Maps show the ship's course, and pen sketches depict coast lands. Entry for February 10, 1864 includes autograph of Vice Admiral Sir Alexander Milne
