Mary Garrett Hay (1857-1928) was an American suffragist and civic leader who was active in the New York suffrage movement. She helped Carrie Chapman Catt set up the offices of the National American Woman Suffrage Association in New York in 1895. Hay was president of the New York State Federation of Women's Clubs from 1910 to 1912, chair of the League of Women Voters in New York City from 1918 to 1923, and served the Republican Party in various official capacities. Collection consists of scrapbook with materials related to Hay's career. Scrapbook contains letters, reports, clippings, leaflets, pamphlets, speeches, and photographs pertaining to her work on behalf of women's clubs, the Republican Party, suffrage, and the League of Women Voters for the years 1895 to 1928. There are also letters of condolence after Hay's death.
