Scope and arrangement
This collection of Harrigans's plays includes 63 original holograph manuscripts, and farces and sketches in over one hundred different versions. Many have extensive revisions, and a few have the final version in typescript. Among the plays in the collection are Cordelia's Aspirations
The collection also contains parts of various plays. Harrigan wrote thirty-nine principle plays and of these only two survive in print, according to the Dictionary of American Biography.The remainder of Harrigan's plays exist only in manuscript form.
The collection holds two thousand pages of script material, and much of the material remains unidentified.
