This logbook was kept on board the H.M.S. Niemen, a British ship of war captained by S. Pym, from May 6, 1812 through May 5, 1814 by Lieutenant Charles Tindal. The ship traveled from the Basque Roads to Cherbourg, Lisbon, Portsmouth, St. Helena, the Cape of Good Hope, Bermuda, Halifax, the Delaware Bay (patrolling), Halifax, Jamaica, Bermuda, and back to England. Entries include observations, mentions of ships captured, and other information, a view of the Delaware coast, list of ships captured in Rehoboth Bay, Delaware and Egg Harbor, New Jersey, as well as specie taken from Bermuda to England
