Register of the chancery of the consulate of France in the United States in New York City, which had jurisdiction in the states of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, with entries dated July 26, 1784-March 4, 1795. The first consul was St. Jean de Crèvecour, whose signature last appears on May 10, 1785. Besides cases related to shipping, customs duties, obligations, and agreements made at the consulate, there are references to Edmond Genet on pages 136, 142-143, 239, 324, and elsewhere
