Scope and arrangement
The Dian Blomquist collection on Louise Roberts and Klarna Pinska dates from 1937 to 1988. The majority of the material is correspondence from Roberts and Pinska addressed to Blomquist, a personal friend of both dancers.
The Pinska material consists of photographs of Pinska and Blomquist, letters, postcards, and a 1978 clipping from the San Francisco Chronicle. Of special note is the inclusion of a papier-mâché mask of Plinska's likeness, signed and dated by artist Violet Clark-Eddy from 1937.
The Roberts material consists of correspondence from Roberts to Blomquist. The correspondence includes postcards, cards, and letters mostly about her overseas travel, personal updates, and well-wishes. Additionally, there is one photograph of Roberts, and a Clark Center Summer Dance flier from 1986.
