Antony Tudor (1908-1987) was a professional dancer, choreographer, and teacher. Before coming to the United States, he danced with Marie Rambert's Ballet Club, where he met his life partner, Hugh Laing. It was also at Rambert's where he met the ballet dancer Maude Gosling (1908-2004). Gosling later became a dance critic, often writing with her husband Nigel (1909-1982). The collection consists of letters and postcards sent from Tudor to the Goslings from 1949-1988, with Hugh Laing continuing the correspondence after Tudor's death. They discuss his personal life; his teaching and choreography projects; and reference dancers and other figures in the ballet world.
