Robert Tracy (1955-2007) was an American dance writer. This collection consists of a 1996 manuscript of his book, Goddess: Martha Graham’s Dancers Remember (1997).
Robert Tracy (1955-2007) was an American dance writer. Tracy began his career as a dancer, studying at Skidmore College and later at the American School of Ballet in New York City. Tracy began writing about dance in the 1980s, and wrote several books, including Balanchine’s Ballerinas: Conversations With the Muses (1983), and Goddess: Martha Graham’s Dancers Remember (1997). He edited and contributed to several newspapers including the New York Times, Vanity Fair, and Dance. In addition to writing about dance, Tracy wrote about film, music, art, and theater.
Robert Tracy died in New York City in 2007.
This collection consists of a 1996 manuscript of Robert Tracy’s book, Goddess: Martha Graham’s Dancers Remember (Limelight Editions, 1997). The manuscript is annotated with copy edits and notes relating to the placement of images within the book. The images within the manuscript are black and white photocopies adhered to the pages.
The manuscript is in reading-order.
