Scope and arrangement
The Lucie Lehmann-Barclay research collection holds research material used to compile "The Bournonville Operas: A Bibliographic Guide." These files consist of correspondence with research institutions, notes, and translations used by Barclay to assemble the database. There are also printouts of portions of the database, along with metadata used in its creation. Electronic records in this collection consist of a database executable in the program dBase III and research files used to gather information for the database. These documents consist of correspondence, notes, and translations as well as text files listing information from the database including rudimentary instructions for use. Viewable electronic records also contain 2 DBF files that are part of the executable database but can be viewed independently as a spreadsheet. The database holds lists of opera titles, composers, scenic designers, theaters, and other collaborators who worked with Bournonville on various productions. The information can be traced back to the publication or other source (book, archival collection, newspaper, article, or theater program) where Lehmann-Barclay obtained the reference.
