Scope and arrangement
The collection dates from 1960 to 1993 and holds photographs of ballet performances and dancers taken by Alovert. The photographs are arranged alphabetically by production title or dancer name, and features images of rehearsals and performances in Russia, Europe, and the United States. The back of each print contains detailed handwritten labels indicating the date, performance name, individuals depicted, venue name, and location. Some of the productions depicted include Antony and Cleopatra, Apollo, Carmen, Daphnis and Chloe, Fiesta, Giselle, La Bayadère, Petrushka, and Romeo and Juliet. Among the dancers depicted are Altynai Asylmuratova, Janna Ayupova, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Veronika Ivanova, Alexander Kurkov, Andris Liepa, Yulia Makhalina, Farukh Ruzimatov, Natalia Tenyakova, Mikhail Volkov, Konstantin Zaklinsky, and Igor Zelensky.
