John Albert Bright, English industrialist and politician. · To Edward John Trelawny, writer and advernturer : 2 letters -- 1 autograph letter signed : 10 Jan 1875 [sic for 1876] : (B'ANA 0204a) : 3 ¹/₂ pages (double sheet) : from Rochdale : begins, "Having obtained your address from your letter in the Times on the death of Shelley and divining that you are acquainted with my father -- John Bright, M.P. -- I take the liberty to ask the following favour of you . . ."; on the subject of a pipe that supposedly once belonged to Byron; with the envelope. -- 1 autograph letter signed : 24 Jan 1876 : (B'ANA 0204b) : 4 pages (double sheet) : from Rochdale (printed stationery) : begins, "I am much obliged to you for so kindly replying to my letter and am very sorry that you have been obliged to send me an answer which is exactly what I neither expected nor desired." -- Both letters housed along with Trelawny's letter to Bright (EJT 0115), in the SC File, under "Trelawny.".
