Dominic Charles Colnaghi, London art dealer. In 1825, he and his Italian-born father, Paul Colnaghi (by then a dealer of long standing), began trading as P. and D. Colnaghi & Co., the name by which the firm is still known. To Charles Cowden Clarke, writer and public lecturer : 1 autograph letter signed : no date : (S'ANA 0556) : answering a question about the Royal Academy of Arts prizes. Overwritten by Clarke : "An unerring authority I should say --- C.C.C.".
