Authorship uncertain; possibly in the hand of John Byron, major in the British army, son of Hon. George Byron (b. 1730), grandson of William, fourth Baron Byron, and first cousin once removed of Lord Byron, the poet. To James Sykes, navy agent : 1 autograph letter signed : 12 Jun 1811 (B'ANA 0610), offering to obtain a Lieutenancy for Sykes's friend Mr. Glover.
