Richard Boyle, third Earl of Burlington, architect, collector, and patron of the arts. Most of Burlington's completed architectural designs were for town or country houses and were executed for his fellow aristocrats and members of his family. To "my dear Bryan" : 1 autograph letter signed : 2 Nov 1739 (MISC 0436), mentions finding several curious "anticaglia moderna" in two old trunks.
