Lucy Barton, daughter of the minor English Quaker poet Bernard Barton. She was co-author with her father of the poems in The Reliquary (1836), and wrote several books on Christian themes throughout her life, including: Bible letters for children, The Natural history of the holy land and other places mentioned in the Bible, The oratory; or, The testimony of Scripture on the subject of prayer, and The Gospel history of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. (Library catalogers often confuse her with Lucy Barton, b. 1891, American costume designer.). To Messrs. Hall & Co. : 2 autograph letters signed ; 29 Mar 1849 (MISC 3454) and 20 Sep 1849 (MISC 3455), regarding the publication of Selections from the poems and letters of Bernard Barton, which she edited. Both letters are on mourning stationery -- Bernard Barton had died in February.
