Collection contains correspondence, notes, photographs, clippings, and other printed memorabilia of the Gershoy family. Correspondence, 1912-1935, consists of letters written to Miriam and Morris Gershoy from their children and relatives and friends in Europe and the U.S., and letters to and from their daughter Eugénie. Letters by Leo Gershoy reflect his life at Cornell and Rochester universities and his travels in France. Letters by Alexander Gershoy concern his career as a botanist at the University of Vermont. The Adah Fogel papers contain correspondence and literary translations, 1949-1969. Most of the material pertains to Fogel's research for Irving Howe in preparation for his book World of our Fathers.
