Emile Ardolino (1943-1993) was a prolific director, producer, editor, and multimedia designer for television, film, and theater productions. He was best known for directing the Academy Award-winning documentary He Makes Me Feel Like Dancin,' the sleeper film Dirty Dancing, and the comedy hit Sister Act. Ardolino's papers date from the 1950s to the 1990s, and chronicle his professional career primarily through video and sound recordings, production materials, posters, notes, correspondence, programs, photographs, contracts, artifacts, and plaques. While most of the collection comes from Adolino's work as a director and sometime-producer of feature films, television series, and television movies, his early work in multimedia design, acting, and film editing is also represented. less

The Balanchine Trust collection of New York City Ballet rehearsal tapes contain raw footage shot for the George Balanchine episodes of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) television series Dance in America. Highlights of the recordings include Balanchine rehearsing with Mikhail Baryshnikov for the televised version of Prodigal Son, and recordings of rehearsals for The Steadfast Tin Soldier. Other members of the New York City Ballet also appear in the recordings. less
