Thornton Wilder (1897-1975) was an American novelist and playwright. This collection, dated 1928 to 1974, consists of letters, postcards, and telegrams written by Wilder to his friend Ann Baumer, secretary Eleanor Murphy, and various other recipients. The majority of the correspondence chronicles Wilder's social life as he was working on his final books, The Eighth Day and Theophilus North. less
