Bat Ye'or is the pen name of Gisèle Littman (born 1933), a British-Swiss author who has written about the historical conditions of Jewish people living in Islamic countries, as well as the perceived influence of Islam on contemporary European politics and culture. Her husband David Littman (1933-2012) also wrote about Jewish people living under Islamic rule, and advocated for human rights causes at the United Nations as a representative of non-governmental organizations. The Bat Ye'or and David Littman papers, dating from the 1910s to 2010 (bulk dates 1961 to 2010), contain drafts and proofs of their written work, professional correspondence, press and publicity materials, statements and reports related to their activism, and personal files. less

Koppel Shub Pinson (1904-1961) was an American educator and historian who specialized in German and Jewish history. He taught at Queens College of the City University of New York from 1937 to 1961. Collection consists of correspondence, a few personal papers, writings, lecture notes and outlines, teaching and student records, research notes, and printed material pertaining largely to Pinson's academic career. Correspondence, 1930s-1960s, is with colleagues and other scholars in the U.S. and abroad. Personal file contains photograph of Pinson, announcements of his lectures and tributes to him. Writings include typescripts of his articles, notes and outlines for his public lectures, and teaching file consisting of materials for courses he taught at Queens College and the New School. Also, student records as an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania and as graduate student at Columbia University; research notes for his dissertation and book, Modern Germany; bibliographies of works relating to Russian history and literature and to Jews and antisemitism; and scrapbook of clippings. less
