These files include correspondence, photographs of the Nikolais Dance Theatre dance performances, watercolor sketches of dancers, and programs. Gitelman's career development is represented to a lesser extent mainly through photographs, programs and writings. The electronic records contain a number of manuscripts, drafts, and planning documents for the book On Stage Alone: Soloists and the Modern Dance Canon (2012) that Gitelman co-edited with Barbara Palfy.
