The Neighborhood Playhouse was founded in 1915, by two sisters Alice and Irene Lewisohn, as part of the Henry Street Settlement House. This neighborhood theatre closed in 1927. In 1928, Irene Lewisohn in collaboration with Rita Wallach Morgenthau founded the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre. Contains partial handwritten script with notes, sheet music, property plot, costume lists, rehearsal schedules, ground plans (in pieces), and a handwritten report on the 1933-1934 year at the Neighborhood Playhouse where BODAS DE SANGRE was considered a play ready for production. Also includes a poster for a memorial program for Federico Garcia Lorca at Washington Irving High School in New York City on Oct. 8, 1937. less
