{"value"=>"<p>Subseries E, Production Files, detail each season and production mounted by the company. Included are photographs, scripts, programs, posters, set designs, and stage manager reports.</p> <p>Productions are arranged by season and opening date and, after the opening of the Forum Theater in 1967, by theater. Canceled and postponed productions are included and these are noted at the folder level. The amount and content of the files varies by production.</p> <p>The general files found under each production are diverse in content, and may include programs, notes, cast sheets, scene breakdowns, costuming, music, prop lists, correspondence, lighting and sound design, fly cues, and understudy lists.</p> <p>Photograph files may contain both contact sheets and full sized images, and include costume calls, production shots, and rehearsal images. Scripts may include various drafts of production scripts, marked operating scripts, stage manager's scripts, and those used for music and lighting cues.</p> <p>The stage manager reports provide a snapshot of every performance for the run of a show. The stage managers noted which actors were out and which understudies were on, any problems that occurred during the performance, their opinion of how the cast performed certain scenes, notes for further rehearsal when there were problems, and the audience's size and reaction to the show. There are often related rehearsal reports.</p> <p>These files were catalogued at an earlier date and some sections or folders have corresponding call numbers. These are noted in the finding aid. The location of oversize material is noted at the folder level.</p> <p>This subseries holds 18 audio reels, mostly sound effects and music for specific productions.</p> <p>Inquiries regarding audio material in this subseries may be directed to the Billy Rose Theatre Division (theatrediv@nypl.org).
