{"value"=>"
Harrigan 'n Hart was based on the story of the musical comedy team Edward Harrigan and Tony Hart. The earliest material in the series is a 1965 draft of the play by Stewart and an accompanying cover letter to Josh and Nedda Logan. Nedda Harrigan Logan, who was Edward Harrigan's daughter, eventually collaborated on the version of the show that opened at the Goodspeed Opera House in 1984 and had its Broadway premier in 1985. Material relating to Harrigan 'n Hart includes drafts and scripts, script corrections and changes, notes, audition material, lyrics, correspondence, contracts, royalty information, programs, clippings, several of Edward Harrigan's scripts, some biographical material on Harrigan and Hart, and a small folder of miscellaneous items. Correspondence includes 4 letters from Nedda Logan and a letter from Max Showalter, as well as a copy of a letter from Stewart to Nedda Logan. Music for the show was by Max Showalter, lyrics by Peter Walker, and book by Michael Stewart, based on material compiled by Nedda Harrigan Logan, and The Merry Partners by E.J. Kahn, Jr.
"}
