{"value"=>"
The musical version of Candide was by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Richard Wilbur, other lyrics by John La Touche and Dorothy Parker, book by Lillian Hellman. Michael Stewart worked on a concert adaptation for versions produced in Atlanta in 1958 and in England in 1959. This series contains drafts and scripts for Stewart's concert adaptations as well as programs, clippings, correspondence, and a folder concerning Stewart's claim that the Sheldon Patinkin version (ca. 1971) of Candide used his work without authorization. Also included are copies of Patinkin's version and an outline of similarities between the Patinkin and Stewart versions.
"}
