{"value"=>"<p>The Press Department maintained a clippings morgue. Staffers collected Fair-related articles from metropolitan area papers, contracting with outside services to cull a representative cross-section of daily press from a hundred newspapers across the country. Most of the articles from the pre-Fair period were taken from New York papers and arranged by subject by department librarian Robert Eaton. After the Fair opened, the morgue switched to a chronological system. Included are verbatim reprints of Fair press releases and promotional photographs; construction progress updates; pieces on celebrity visits, exhibits and amusements; special interest items from trade, professional and regional periodicals; reports on the impact of current events upon the Fair; and pieces on Fair labor and pricing practices.</p>"}
