{"value"=>"<p>This subseries contains a fair amount of Lola's materials from her time at Smith College, including essays written as a student, and an item that appears to be a gradebook used while she was teaching at the college.</p> <p>Also included in the subseries are wedding announcements for both Lola and her son, passports and identification papers, and a small amount of medical information, in particular pertaining to diets. A number of calling and business cards -- some annotated by hand -- are present, as well as membership cards from approximately twenty organizations of which Lola was a member. There are membership cards to WILPF from 1930 to 1942; the American Association of University Women in 1935, 1936 and 1941; the Socialist Party from 1905-1921; and League of Nations Press cards from 1935 to 1938.</p> <p>Other mementos include ration books, recipes, pins and ribbons, and a small number of menus from banquets and conference dinners. Of these, the most interesting is perhaps the menu for the Thirteenth Conference on the Cause and Cure of War, featuring Eleanor Roosevelt and Carrie Chapman Catt as speakers. The menu offers such dishes as \"Mixed International Pickles,\" and \"Pecan Nut Ice-Olation Cream.\" One menu has H.L. Mencken's address and telephone number written on the back.</p>"}
