All materials are arranged by format, and chronologically within. The invoices, receipts, and canceled checks offer a wealth of information as to Lola's dispensation of her fortune, and document personal expenditures as well as her often sizable donations to political causes, friends, and associates.</p> <p>In addition, there are bills and contracts pertaining to the construction and upkeep of Lola's house in Winnetka, Illinois; life and property insurance contracts and correspondence; and an oil lease permitting the Bexar Petroleum Company to drill on her property in Boerne, Texas.</p> <p>A small number of items in this subseries appear to have belonged to Lola's grandfather Samuel A. Maverick, such as an accounts list from 1856 that includes entries for the sale of slaves.</p>"}
