Early drafts of the book are titled <span class=\"title\">The Genius of Miles Davis</span>. Troupe began preparing a screen adaptation of the book long before he completed it, and it went through at least 15 drafts before the project was cancelled. The papers for the screenplay contain these drafts, as well as unnumbered drafts which may duplicate the numbered scripts. Also present are story outlines for the screenplay and correspondence with Troupe's lawyer, Peter Shukat, and several producers and production companies.</p>"}
