{"value"=>"<p>Troupe wrote or was involved with three major Miles Davis-related projects: <span class=\"title\">Miles: The Autobiography</span> (1989), which he wrote with Davis; <span class=\"title\">The Miles Davis Radio Project</span> (1990), which he co-produced and wrote; and <span class=\"title\">Miles and Me: A Memoir of Miles Davis</span> (2002), for which he wrote a screenplay that was never produced. In addition, Troupe wrote several shorter pieces on Davis for the magazines <span class=\"title\">Spin</span>, <span class=\"title\">Elle</span>, and <span class=\"title\">Emerge</span>; composed liner notes for the <span class=\"title\">The Complete Bitches Brew Sessions</span> CD set; lectured on Davis; interviewed Davis in public at the Studio Museum of Harlem; wrote a tour book essay for Davis; and proposed a pictorial biography of Davis which was never completed.</p> <p>Shorter articles, essays, a book proposal, the liner notes, and talks or lectures Troupe wrote about Davis are represented by notes, drafts, final manuscripts, proofs, and clippings. Notable items include the transcript of Troupe's public interview of Davis in 1989 at the Studio Museum of Harlem, and Troupe's obituary for and a remembrance of Davis.</p> <p>One lecture in the Davis files is by François Vincent, a professor at the University of Paris X – Nanterre, delivered on the occasion of Davis receiving an honorary doctorate from the university.</p>"}
