Since the book is composed entirely of quotations from interviews, arranging her research this way was an essential step in Stein's process of creating the structure of the book. These extracts, edited and arranged in order, almost constitute a draft of the manuscript, but they are not quite at that stage. There are two separate runs of extracts in book sequence, at varying stages in Stein's process.</p>"}
