{"value"=>"
The interviews and transcripts included here provide mostly unpublished accounts from figures who were instrumental in the lives and careers of Edie Sedgwick, Andy Warhol, and the art, film, counter-culture, fashion, and literary worlds of 1960s New York. Interview subjects include Bobby Anderson, Joseph Chaikin, David \"Preacher\" Ewing, Dennis Hopper, Ingrid Superstar, Roy Lichtenstein, Norman Mailer, Gerard Malanga, Allen Midgette, Arthur Miller, Bobby Neuwirth, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Ondine, John and Janet Palmer, Michael Post, Gloria Steinem, Gore Vidal, Viva, and many members of Sedgwick's family. Primary documents include Sedgwick family letters given to Stein by the family. Drafts consist of multiple complete and incomplete drafts, editing notes, and galleys. There are several annotated versions of the manuscript, including those with comments from friends and colleagues, such as the book's editor George Plimpton, and Edie Sedgwick's sister, Alice Sedgwick Wohl.

Book components include text for footnotes, acknowledgements, contracts, correspondence regarding film and photograph rights and permissions, insurance (Errors and Omissions coverage), lay-outs, and book jacket text. There are also many prints and photocopies of photographs of Sedgwick, her friends, family, collaborators, and residences, as well as stills and behind the scenes photographs from Ciao! Manhattan. Materials documenting the response to Edie include reviews and letters, some designated by Stein as \"important letters about Edie.\"
"}
