Scope and arrangement
The collection consists of one audio recording of a mass meeting in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on February 16, 1964. The meeting opens with protest songs and spirituals including "Eyes on the Prize" and "This Little Light of Mine." Comedian and civil rights activist Dick Gregory speaks to the crowd, using satire to address issues such as the violence of segregationists, the importance of commitment to the civil rights movement, and the role of the church in the struggle for civil rights. The recording has two parts.
