Ernest Guiraud, a French composer, studied piano with the recipient, A. Marmontel. In 1888 composer Paul Dukas won the 2nd Prix de Rome with a cantata, Velléda. Carbon copy of the transcription of a letter concerning Dukas and the Prix de Rome.
